Where did the name, One Eyed Productions, come from?

The owner, Kevin Currie, wanted a cool name for his production company while working on his first project, that also describes himself. He has only one eye so, well, you can guess the rest.

How long has OEP been around?

The company has been around, in different forms, since 1995. That is when Kevin made his first movie, named Soul Stealer. Since then, OEP has changed forms many times, but it's newest incarnation is a combination of all that has come before. In September of 2006, OEP became an official entity and evolved from a hobby to a full-fledged company.

What other websites has OEP created?

Well, there's this one of course. Kevin Currie also has his own personal site, and there was a site called The Interview Project, which has since shut down. There was also Local Treasures, a site for local artisans to sell their wares, but the project was canceled before it was officially launched. Since it's official beginning in 2006, OEP has since designed websites for several local companies.

How much does OEP charge to develop a website?

That all depends on how big your project is. When designing a website, I take into account the size of the site (number of pages), whether it is a personal or business site, and if there are any additional features required, such as a video or Flash animation. Please check out the Prices & Packages page, or contact us for a quote.

How long does it usually take to design a website?

This all depends on the size and type of website desired, as well as how quickly I receive the required content. It also depends how many other projects I am working on at the time. The average site will take a few weeks to complete.

How much does OEP charge to produce a video?

That all depends on how big your project is. There are many aspects to the video: the video shoot, editing the video, and post-production (burning the DVDs, and packaging). I have created several package deals for different types of videos, which take into account the estimated time it takes to shoot and edit the video. Please check out the Prices & Packages page, or contact us for a quote.

How long does it usually take to produce a video?

That all depends on how big your project is. There are many aspects to the video: the video shoot, editing the video, and post-production (burning the DVDs, and packaging). If all you require is raw, un-edited footage of an event, that can be handed over in one day. Editing is the hardest part of the process, and takes the longest amount of time to get it right. An hour of video could take several weeks to edit. It also depends how many other projects I am working on at the time.

Can OEP shoot a video at my location?

OEP can shoot in almost any location. This is perfect for your wedding, concert, or other events. Studio space can also be rented for an additional charge. An additional charge will be added if travel is required to locations outside of Calgary, AB, based on the distance to and from the location.

What kind of equipment/software do you use?

I use a Sony PD150 prosumer miniDV camcorder, and edit the videos using Adobe Premier Pro CS3. To create standards-based websites, I use Microsoft Expression Web, which allows me to create unique templates, and update entire websites in seconds. I also use Adobe Flash 8 Pro, and Adobe Photoshop CS2.
